Cub Scout Express!

Attention all Cub Packs in the Minsi Trails Council!

Sunday, September 20th 2020 is Cub Scout Day on the Delaware River Railroad Excursion! For the eleventh year in a row, the New York, Susquehanna & Western Technical & Historical Society, operators of the Steam Train ride on the old Bel-Del Line at Phillipsburg, NJ, is again offering a special deal for participating Cub Packs.

Please send an email to timothy.hands@scouting.org to let him know what time slot you would like to fill. 

Take a ride in a vintage passenger coach pulled by a steam locomotive along the scenic Delaware River. Midway through the ride, you’ll visit a Corn Maze! Train rides and the corn maze are offered at a discounted fare to Cub Packs at $10 for Cubs and other children ages 3-12; $15 for adults; free for children 2 and under. Checks for the train ride can be made to, Minsi Trails Council, the day of the event.

***Note packs are highly encouraged to register and pay as one unit at the event. When paying for the train, we ask for one check per unit*** 

Your pack must sign up for one of the three trains offered: 11:00 am, 12:30 pm, or 2:00 pm. The Cub Scout Express will be limited to 200 people per train.

There will be an event patch available this year to commemorate your participation in the Cub Scout Express. Patches can be purchased for $2 each through registration or at the Scout Shop. To ensure availability, leaders should reserve patches in advance when signing up for the excursion. The fee for the patches is paid separately. Checks can be made out to, Minsi Trails Council, on the day of the event. 

Be prepared! There’s a gift shop on the train, and Gem Stone Panning at the “Susquehanna Mines sluices” near the corn maze for an additional fee.

The Delaware River Railroad Excursion departs from 100 Elizabeth Street in historic Downtown Phillipsburg, NJ. Take Main Street to Market Street and follow the signs.
