2020 Trexler District First Aid Meet

Saturday February 29^th at 9:00 AM at

St. Paul RCC, 920 South 2nd Street, Allentown, PA 18103

Cost: $7.00 per Scout

The purpose of the first aid meet is to test and exercise the First Aid and critical thinking skills of Scouts in scenarios that are fashioned around real word situations.

To this end, Scouts will participate in a patrol of 3-6 members. Each patrol will complete 10 scenarios that will test their First Aid and critical thinking skills as well as a written test that they shall complete as a group to test their combined knowledge. Patrols will also be evaluated based on their teamwork and leadership abilities.  Awards will be given for the top scoring 3 patrols

Scouts are not to wear their Class A uniforms and should instead wear their Class B uniforms.

All scenarios and the questions on the test will be based on the First Aid Merit Badge booklet.

Required equipment;

          30      4 x 4 gauze

          8        Rolled gauze, 2” min

          8        Triangular bandages

          1        ACE style bandage

          1        Roll of tape, 1” min

          2        Blankets

          2        Pencils

          1        Small notepad      

1        Container for supplies that has a handle or strap that can be carried in one hand that can hold all the required supplies

Refreshments (provided by Troop 140) will be available at a cost and it is recommended that all Scouts bring some money.
