staff. It will be delivered jointly with The Introduction to Outdoor Leadership 

Training required for Scoutmasters/Assistant Scoutmasters in a hybrid on-

line,in-person setting.  

Trexler Scout Reservation - Settlers Camp 

BALOO will be delivered using a hybrid method of instruction.  Training sessions will be:

    September 8: pre-course meeting 7-8PM

    September 10, 17, 24: virtual training through Zoom 7-9PM

    September 26: practical outdoor experience 8AM - 3PM 

While BALOO is a weekend course designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for those leaders who are interested in adding a camping component to their Pack activities, this particular BALOO will be instructed in both a virtual and outdoor setting, combined with Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS), and not include in-person camping. Accepted alternatives will be discussed at the pre-course meeting. Registrants for this course will receive both training cards when all requirements are satisfied.  Social distancing guidelines, including wearing masks, will be observed during the Saturday experience.

Prerequisite: All participants must complete the online component of the BALOO training prior to the weekend. Log into my.scouting.org click on Menu, 'My Training', "Training Center', and Cub Scouting. In the new window select 'Course Catalog' and search for BALOO. Bring a printed completion certificate to the course.
