LEAVE NO TRACE SKILLS COURSE

NEW! - This is the Course for Youth

 

COURSE:      Those who complete the course are prepared to:

  1. Understand, demonstrate, and teach the techniques of the Leave No Trace Seven Principles to friends, family, scouting groups, and other community groups.
  2. Assist others earn their BSA Outdoor Ethics Awareness Award & Action Awards.
  3. Lead discussions on outdoor ethics and help others explore their own personal outdoor ethic.

 

                    Completion of this course can qualify for requirement #5 for your BSA Outdoor Ethics Awareness Award.

 

Completion of this course can qualify for requirement #6 for the National Medal of Outdoor Achievement

 

DATES:         Friday 6:00 PM through Saturday evening,  April 12-13, 2024  This course for youth will occur concurrent with the Leave No Trace Level 1 Course for Adults.

 

WHERE:        Nature Lodge, Camp Minsi

 

WHO:            This course is recommended for the following - 

Youth 14 to 18 Scouts, Venturers, and Sea Scouts and  NYLT participants, Outdoor Ethics Guides, Order of the Arrow members, camp counselors in training, and Camp Staff. 

If you are an Outdoor Ethics Guide this course will help you  improve your Leave No Trace skills.

FORMAT:       All participants must attend all in-person sessions at camp and complete assignments to graduate. No refunds after start of course. There will be some individual homework that each participant will need to complete on their own.  Because this is a training course to prepare you to teach, each participant will be required to make a 15-minute presentation on a Leave No Trace Principle.

                    

COST:             $50.00 per person includes food, training materials, and recognitions

                        Instructors (formerly Master Educator) and the MTC
